I Bought a Rootbeer Just to Make This

I saw it in a DIY book called Alternacrafts. They used resin to seal theirs and added all kinds of little trinkets inside. I am going to make a necklace with mine.

And yes, I did work on the Project That Shall Not Be Named today too. And I should admit to Melissa and Nicole, that yes, Lord of the Rings Part II does have a lot of stuff that happens in it and is not totally pointless.

Cool! How was that done?

How did I do it? I used an awl to poke a hole in the top, then wire to form the loop with a snug fit and a dab of glue to hold it in. Then I used a piece of double-sided foam tape to glue in the picture and glued in that black plastic cording around it. That is where it helps to have a craft room, I had wire, cording and foam tape tucked away!

Resin is a powder that you mix and it makes a clear heavy liquid that dries to hard plastic. However, the fumes are really noxious so I didn't feel like messing with it for one small project. If you were going to do a bunch it might be worth using, or if you wanted to embed buttons, miniatures, etc and make it waterproof. If mine gets wet the picture will get wrecked. Though I could seal it with some glossy paint?
