A friend (hi!) conveniently admired my son's name banner (received in a swap) about a week before her DS's birthday so I was able to whip one up. I tried some new stitches on the letters from my embroidery encyclopedia.
Stitches used:
split stitch
running stitch
chain stitch
cable chain stitch
blanket stitch

very cute! I especially like the color combinations
Did you do it all by hand? I love, love, love it! I may have to commission you for more. It's the cutest thing!
Thank you again! :)
Yup, it's all done by hand. I drew the letters and circles on paper, cut them out for patterns, then cut them from felt and stitched it all together watching movies. I am glad you like it!
I was thinking it'd be nice to make a Happy Birthday one to hang up every year, you could even make a set of numbers to add on the end, could be fun! Or if you really wanted to martha it, you could have it say happy birthday but custom the ends by making whatever theme you had that year.. fish, firetrucks, curious george. Oh my, i just realized I used martha as a verb.

HAHA @ martha used as a verb!
I am going to attempt this for my kids, I never find their names on anything ever, so this will be a cute personalized thing for their rooms.
